The Vaugondy Globe was initially created in the 1700's by Father and Son Gilles and Didier Robert de Vaugondy who were the leading mapmakers in France at that time. Didier, was appointed as geographer to Louis XV and puplished various globes
in his time. This Vaugondy Globe is displayed on a Vintage Silver stand that is accented in Nickel-Plated brass with black and ivory gores that have been applied to the globes core by hand with authentic construction and details.
