Welcoming Classic Blue to 2020
It has officially been announced that the Colour Institute Pantone’s colour of the year is ‘Classic Blue 19-4052’.
Which we are thrilled about as blue is in our Gillies heritage as our signature diamond logo has been colour blue since 1998.
A shade of blue has not been present in Pantone’s colour of the year since 2000 when Cerulean was chosen, so blue has come full circle and is colour of the year 20 years later.
Pantone release the colour of the year to guide the tonal trends for the year head. So, expect to see plenty blue in 2020.
This shade of blue is tranquil yet vibrant, as Pantone’s Vice President Laurie Pressman affirms that this shade is “Full of calm and confidence”. This classic blue reminds us of our favourite blue jeans or a coastal sea view, but all in all, this colour evokes only joyous feelings.
