Ercol Cushioned Butterfly Chair

First launched in 1956, the Ercol Cushioned Butterfly Chair remains a masterclass in mid-century British furniture design. Crafted from premium ash timber, its distinctive steam-bent backrest and seat cradle the body to provide exceptional ergonomic support without compromising on style. Built to withstand the demands of daily dining, the chair features traditional Windsor wedge and tenon joinery, a technique where extended legs are wedged through the seat and sanded completely flush for maximum durability and strength. This classic silhouette is enhanced with a cushioned, upholstered seat, customisable with fabrics from the Ercol and Universal collections. Available in a variety of wood finishes, the Ercol Cushioned Butterfly Chair effortlessly complements both traditional and modern interior aesthetics while delivering long-lasting comfort.
