It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas at Gillies
It’s no secret, Gillies loves Christmas! Our favourite bit will be no surprise to hear – our spectacular festive display, which we love putting in each year for the children and the community to enjoy.
This year our showroom merchandiser Amy Stevenson was tasked with designing and installing the 2019 display, incorporating our latest purchase… three interactive singing reindeer. Oh, and did we forget to mention one of them can talk! Nobody quite knows how, but we think he has special magic powers that mean in addition to his A Capella singing with his two friends, he can also interact by having full conversations mostly finding out what you want for Christmas or your favourite part of our display. It must be tiring for him though as he can only do this at certain moments.
Amy’s design also includes a Helter Skelter-style parcel wrapping machine and features lots of busy elves making toys. This year we wanted our display to be more interactive so we created a viewing platform that allows our audience to get inside the display and have a closer look.
So far, our 2019 Christmas display has been a big hit within the community and has brought smiles to many faces, which is our ultimate aim! Our display also aims to raise money for the Archie Foundation and we gather donations via our talking post-box that you can find perched at the side of our viewing platform.
