Staying Safe at Gillies

The health & safety of Gillies customers, staff & families are of the utmost importance, and the Coronavirus (Covid-19) situation has made us only more attuned to this.

In line with Government recommendations, we have adapted our premises and procedures to provide a safe shopping experience, many of which you can find out more about below.

Our Stores

With the safety of others in mind we have created a safe shopping experience in all of our premises. Please check the current opening hours on our individual store pages.

Are your stores open?
All of our stores are now open and we are thrilled to welcome you back in-store.

What measures do you have in place to keep customers and colleagues safe In-store?
To protect colleagues and customers we have made a number of changes to improve the safety of your visit. Some of these measures include:

- We will monitor the number of people in our stores to prevent overcrowding. The maximum number permitted per store will be published at our entrance.

- We have various social distancing reminders throughout all of our stores and ask that you adhere to these during your visit.

- Each of our entrances will have complimentary hand-sanitiser available. Additional hand sanitisation stations will be available throughout all of our stores.

- All of our payment points have had Perspex screens fitted to provide extra protection for colleagues and customers.

- All of our colleagues have been provided with face protection to provide an additional level of safety when we assist you with selecting your home furnishings.

Our cleaning colleagues have been briefed to concentrate on high contact areas such as door handles, lift buttons, bannisters etc.

These measures will be monitored closely to ensure we’re adhering to government advice and reducing risk where possible.

Online Orders & Delivery

Both our website and delivery services are operating as normal. Our 2-person delivery and fitting crews remain operational and, in-line with government advice, will continue to deliver your purchases into your homes.

Our online store remains open for business and our web-team remain on-hand to process orders and answer online queries.

Can I click and collect?
Yes, order online and our select click & collect service and goods will be available to collect from all stores and distribution centres.

For warehouse collections:
Once you’ve placed your order, we’ll call you to book your collection time. This will ensure we have your items available and ready before you arrive.

What measures do you have in place to keep customers and colleagues safe during delivery?
Naturally, safety measures do need to be followed and our customer service colleagues will go through these when scheduling date. These measures include:

- Our 2-man delivery crews will be in fixed teams and operate from the same vehicle to reduce any cross-contamination risks.

- All of our colleagues have been supplied with adjustable face visors, face protection masks, nitrile gloves and personal hand sanitiser.

- When our delivery teams arrive at your home, we will wait outside and ask that you verbally provide instructions. Our teams will then carry out the necessary work.


What should I do If I am expecting a delivery but I am self-isolating?
For all smaller items including accessories, furnishings, rugs etc these items will be delivered via a contactless service by our third-party delivery service; you can direct these to be delivered on doorstep, outbuilding, garage.

If you’re expecting a larger delivery of a piece of furniture then please get in contact with us and make us aware of your situation. We can then discuss whether its appropriate of you to re-schedule or assess whether contact free delivery is a viable option – as detailed above.

In-store Café

Our café The Eatrium located in our Perth store is open and ready to welcome you back with some delicious homemade cakes, scones, soups and more!

Do I need to book a table?
No, we operate on a table-by-table basis meaning there is no need to book.

What measures do you have in place to keep customers and colleagues safe while at the Eatrium?
We have introduced new measures within our café to reduce risk and keep everyone safe while they enjoy a refreshment, including:

- We will issue each table with a track and trace form to compete.

- Sanitiser is readily available within the café.

- Table service will be in place to avoid queuing.

- Our team have been supplied with face protection and other PPE.
