Covid-19 Update from Gillies

Important note: Our shops are currently closed, however our website remains open.


The health & safety of Gillies customers, staff & families is of the utmost importance, and the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) has made us only more attuned to this.

In line with Government advice, Gillies have made some temporary adjustments to our normal business hours and operations which we have detailed below.

Our stores - To help prevent the spread of the virus, Gillies have followed the Government advice to temporarily close all of our retail stores from 5.00pm Monday 23rd March 2020.

This is a precautionary measure until such time as HM Government makes reassurances that retail stores can resume operating and maintain safe environments. We are proud to have never had to shut the doors in our 125-year history, but agree that the fight against the Coronavirus is of national importance and requires extraordinary measures.

Website - Our online store will remain open for business and our web-team remain on-hand to process orders and answer website queries. Our 2020 Garden & Outdoor furniture is now in-stock too and perfect for extending the comfort of your own home to your garden! Please note that our ‘Click&Collect’ feature will be temporarily suspended until we can re-open our stores.

Deliveries – In conjunction with the advice to close our stores, the distribution & delivery of our products is also classed as non-essential and therefore is now temporarily closed in a bid to keep our staff, families and customers as safe as possible.

Contact Information - During our time of closure, we understand that you may have the need to contact us about an existing order, service query, website enquiry etc. and as such we have set up a number of dedicated staff to assist.

About an outstanding order – All orders placed remain valid and will continue to progress through the supply chain, however may encounter a slight delay due to various Covid-19 measures in place around the world. If you have an existing order that you would like to discuss, you can contact us on during business hours. We ask that you please quote your order reference which can be found in the top right corner of your invoice. Please note that due to reduced staff levels this may take longer to answer than we would normally prefer.

About a service issue – We continue to progress all service issues and ask for your understanding in any difficulty we have in completing these during the current situation. General enquiries – For all other enquiries, please direct them to where we will have staff working remotely to answer.

Please bear in mind that there may be some small delay in response due to reduce staff numbers and home-working arrangements.
